    Description

    I just purchased this vintage Metlox Pottery soup tureen ladle from a local estate here in Central Virginia. The piece was produced under their "Poppytrail" tradename in the "California Provincial" pattern first introduced in 1952.  This is the ladle for the largest hen tureen, one of the hardest pieces to find in this pattern. The design is well executed with crisp mold and nice embossed detail. This piece in very good condition and measures about 9" from edge of bowl to top of bend in handle. A nice replacement piece for the large hen on nest soup tureen.
